Rules I Travel By
Here are some of the rules I ride by; additions and updates to come, when applicable.
- Always trust your instincts, providing that you’ve first ruled out your biases.
- With a trailer and its weight, I’m cycling’s equivalent to a freight truck; I have to keep this in mind at all times, and ride accordingly.
- Always leave a place cleaner than when I arrived.
- Always be courteous, no matter what.
- At an intersection, or whenever relevant, always make eye contact with a driver before getting in their way; priority means squat if a driver fails to acknowledge your presence.
- Always listen to any advice or opinion one may offer, as long as it relates to this journey. The choice to adhere, or give weight, to these remains mine; good choices depend on information.
